ST. JOHN AMBULANCE.
AMBULANCE. The [annual meeting of tho St. John Ambulance Association |was held last evening in the Shelbourne-strect schoolroom. In the earlier part of the meeting Dr Boor presided, and afterwards the Hey E. JP. Cachemailla Tho lion Secretary, Mr W. anadgrass, ruad the report and halauao sheet, whioh was adopted on tho motion of Mrs Kirkwood seconded by Miss Ullok. The balnnca sheet showed a credit of £U 3s. The report stated that about fifty ladiea attended the classes taught by Drs Boor, Hudson, and lloboits, Of these twelve qualified for certificates, and seven were entitled to medallions. The servioes of Drs Boor and Hudson had boon recognised by placing them on the list of life members. Drs Hudson, Qibbs, and Roberts had consouted to give lectures during the coming season. A letter was read from Mr A. Pitt tendering his resignation as President. It was resolved on the motion of" Mrs Hounsell that he be asked to reconsider the matter. The Chairman (Dr Boor) said that the Rev Mr Cachemaille took a very important part in connection with similar works in England. The Secretary had a letter from Sir Hubert Perrott as to Mr Cachemaille's knowledge of ambulance work. The following officers were elected • - Vice-President, RovE. P. Cachemailles
Lady Secretary, Mrs P. Cooke; Men's secretary Mr W, Snodgrass ; Committee, Mrs Webb-Bowen, Miss Boor, and Mr [leaps. Tho Rev Mr Cacheinaille having arrived presented medallions to Mrs Counsell, Mrs Hounsell, Mrs Perrin, Miss Boor, Misa Daniel, Miss Holloway, and Misa WebbRow en. The medallions are pretty oniaments in the form of Maltese crosses. The Chairman ill a short and interesting iddress, gave many instances of the usefulness of knowledge how to treat the wonnded before the arrival of surgical aid. On the suggestion of the Chairman, it was resolved to spend the funds on hand on the purchase of a litter for the conveyance of patients. A vote of thanks was passed, on the motion of Mrs P. Cooke, to Drs Boor, Hudson, and Roberts for their services.
