Retrenchment Scheme.
[United Press Association ] Melbourne, This Day. The Cabinet has considered the proposed retrenchment scheme, and has decided to carry it out almost in its entirety. It is expected that the effect will be a reduction in the estimates of the year of about £420,000. The Kailway Department is chiefly affected, the extent being £120,000.
