Terrible Hurricane.
Carolina Islands Devastated. [United Press Association,] Sydnkv, This Day. News has been received that the Carolina Islands were swept by a hurricane during January. More than twdtlljrds of Clio houses on Yap, one of the principal islands were levelled to the ground. The roof of the Government House was blown oil', and the Governor was injured by tailing debris. All the food and crops were destroyed, and famine stares the natives in the face, unless some assistance is rendered by the .Spanish Ciorcrnmcnt. Most of the small trading vessels at the group were wrecked, in some cases with loss of Jife.
