Strike of Coolies.
[United Press Association.! Thursday Island, This) Day. Reports from Hung Kong state that many thousand coolies struck work owing to the Government enforcing registration of coolie lodging houses. Convicts and military were engaged in coaling ships and handling cargo, but when tlio mail steamer lcfr, it was expected that the strike would soon collapse.
