Haweba, Thiß v >y. A seoond oharge of harse stealing against John and Murdooh MeL-'ai and Herbert Young concluded t j ayd. The aconsed reserved their defence. They were committed for trial. Young's bandsmen applied to ba released, saying that Young had been offered money to clear out. The applioation was granted.
The total number of medioal students in the 20 German Universities during 1892 was 8838. Twelve wives reosntly appaared agunst^a man who was charged with bigamy ia South Carolina. China papers bring news ot a balloon* parachute fatality at frVgon to Mr Victor Valazie. Ths ballooaisS in excellent spirita, was carried to a height of about 2000 feet. At the expected moment he was observed to let go. Bat the parachute refused to open and he desoa^ded, it is calculated, 800 feet before the parachute opened. This it did with so sudden a jerk that Valazie lost his hold, and wa3 seen rapidly to fall. The right arm made a convulsive effort to reg-un its hold, and then fell to the side, the left arm remaining above the head. For some distance the mm fell in that position ; he then turned feet upward.*, and fell with terrific foroa through the roof of a brewery to the floor bolow. a**d was mingled ar.d disfigured beyond recognition.
