Wellington, This Day. The Registrar-Geaoral, hiving s -nt to the Chauoclbr of the N-w Zealand University a protest by Dr. C -.hill and Df. Franoe on behalf .of the Wellington branoh of tbe Medioal Association aguust granting medioal diplomas to three candidates from Duuedia, Sir J. Hector has replied that there is misapprehousioa. The candid itcs passed in all branohes bub surgery. _ Iv that the two examiners disagreed, and in oonsequenoe there was no other course but to appoint fresh examiuers and hold another ex iminatiou. This was doae and the candidates duly pissed. Sir J. Hector points cut that diplomas under the University oharter bear on the face the statement that graduates passed the requisite examinations and are strictly registerable without further inquiry. As, however, the matter was of great importance he supplies the above facts that there may be no misunderstanding.
