WAIMEA COUNTY COUNCIL.

The Waimea County Council met this morning when there were presfnt :— Messrs J. Bird, (chairman), D. Beuke, P. Best, R. Pattie, A. Thomson. W. B. Thomson. Inspector's liejiort.

It was resolved that Mi* Reay had no claim on this Council. A letter was received from Messrs Pitt and Moore on behalf of Mr James Brookes claiming £20 10s for extra work on contract-?. The Inspector said that pirt of the claim was just, but that the greater part was absurd. Mills stating that tlie Minister of Lands had promised £100 to build a bridge over tha (.'ral iaiii river in the Wangamoa Valley. It was resolved to go on with the work as coon as the money should be available. A letter was read from the (Jovernmeut with reference to payment of interest on tlie Koeks Koad loan, lt was resolved that the special rate in the .Stoke Hiding be collected in time for the lirst payment, the rate tu be paid at the County Council's ollice.
