The Trades and Labour Council has oalled a special meeting to consider the question of raising; subscriptions for the memorial to the kta Mr Ballance. Christchurch, This Diy. Reference was made from the pulpits of many of the churches yesterday to the death of the Premier. Dunedin, This Day. In several of the city churches reference was made to Mr Ballance'a death. Oamaru, This Day. The Waitaki South Maoris are holding a great tangi at which the death of the Premier was loudiy lamented.
