BOROUGH OF RICHMOND.

The ordinary monthly meoting of the Riohmond Borough Counoil was held on Tuesday, lO.h inst., at 7*30 p.m. Present: Ihe Mayor (in the Chair), Ore Fittsll, Papps, Hsikneuf", Shest, Orouoher, anl Beet. Tha; Queen street, from ita Junoiion with B&Hi'burj Road to tha upper boundary of tbo borough, be named Upper Queen Street, and from it junotion with Gladstone ltoad to the lower boundary be named Lower Queen street. That the road from the Railway Station to the baach be named Beach Road. That Ihe Btreet from Gladstone Road passing the Parsonage be named Waverley street, Ifc waa resolved that an application to erect a verandah in front of Mr J. 11 . Leonard's new building be granted on tho usual conditiOHß, the work co be dono subject to the supervision of the Works Committee, The Works Committeo reported that thoy had gone over the streets, and recommendtd that metalling, grubbing, and other repairs be dono at various placea. They further reoommended that a now bridge, with brick or conorete walls and wooden top, be made noroso the ditoh on Gladstone Road at the foot of Oxford-street, and as nearly as muy bo the width of the latter street. It was resolved that specifications be prepared and tenders be iuvited for the bridge, and that the Works Committee bo empowered to proceed with the repairs fco the roads recommended in tho report. It waa resolved that the owner of a property through whioh a ditch runs whioh oonneota with tho main ditoh, get notico to clear out same, It was resolved that a supply of poisoned wheat ba got. Payments were authorised, general accounts £30 18s, waterworks £4 6s 2d.
