well formed. Miss McGlaßhan and Mrs Pattie showed some very nice specimens of donble and dingle petunia and also some good tuberous begonias in flower, In out Sowers the Dahlia took the lead, the competition being rather keen, Mis R. Puttie coming off first with a lovely Btand of six blooms. Very close on them, howevor, was Mies Cook's colleotion of six beautiful sorts, Thebouquets were not quite so plentiful ns at prsvious shows, but in taste and form they wero much better, Wreaths, baskets of ilowere, trophy of grasses wero each and all very well and tastefully arranged, and would have done credit to shows of muoh greater., pretensions. For exhibition Mr Huffam sent some pretty vari6tied of Oookeoombeß and Mr Budden a fine colleotion ot twenty- four sorts ol Dahliaß. Tho same gentleman also exhibited a seedling Dahia raised by him this soaaon and named " George Cook." The colour is a very dark maroon, aud ihe flower is large in size and peifeob in shape. The native exhibits wero nof» very, plentiful, This may be accounted for by tho laoi that this being the busy season with our farmers there has not been Buthoieut time to look them up. What wero Bhowh, however, were very good. TheEo was rvnioe plant of fnohaia prostrata from Mr JBoyes, a good speoimen of the rod fronted oyathoides from Mr Jennings, and also the ÜBual pr6tty display ol fern 3 from Mrs Manoy.
