Mr Froude on Federation.
hr London, October 14. Mr J. A. Froude considers a Federal Par* liament of the Empire to be an absurdity and a commercial union impossible. The bond between England and the Colonies is not galling at present, and it is better not to speak of federation. He supports a suggestion for periodical contests between mem« bers of the British race in industry, athletics and culture.
