Auckland, June 3. B. D. O'Halloran, lately'ghief Postmaster at Whangarei, was thia morning" aentenoed to three years' imprisonment at the Supreme Oourt on eaoh of five charges of embezzlement to whioh he pleaded guilty on Tuesday. The sentences are to run concurrently, Mr Tole addressed the Oourt to induce His Honour to apply the First Offenders Probation Aot. Mr Juatioe Oonolly said he should have given a longer sentence, as a warning, J» other persons in poaitiohß of trust, but that tho prisoner's proapeots had already been ruined. The Auokland Eaat Licensing Oommittee oautioued several licensees that if Sunday trading were continued severe measures would be taken,
