Narrow Escape of the S.S. Ohau.

Wellington, May 29. On the trip from Weatport to Wellington with a oargo of ooal the steamer Ohau atruok on the beacon rook off A Jaokson'a Head, Cook Strait. The vide waa running atvong with the Bteamer, and aa she got in between the rooks and the shore, caught her on the quarter and swung her suddenly round, causing her to graze a rook rather sharply, The epot where she touohed seemed to bo under one of the ballast tanks, ao that the vessel might not leak, although some extensive damage may be done to her bottom. There ia nothing to be seen inside with the exception of the cracking of the aement lioiug of the vessel. The Ohau will be plaaed on the Blips to-morrow for examination, , May 30. The Ohau went on the slip this morning, when it was found that there was very slight damage, only one plate being dented. The veßael will come off this afternoon.
