MASONIC.

There waa an unusually large attendance of brethren at the Masonio Hall last evening on the occasion of tho installation of Bro A. W. Bain as W.M, of tho Viotory Lodge N.Z.0., and tho investiture of his oflloorß, The W.M, officers and brethren of the Southern Star Lodge E.G. paid an offioial vinit, and among tho other visitors present were brethren of the Forest and Golden Bay Lodges and also from Auokland, Wellington, and other parts, including England. The installation ceremony was very impressively perfornwd by Bro, H. J. Williams, of Wellington, Giaud Director of Ceremonies of the N. Z Grand Lodge, ably assisted by Bro. Boor! P.M. Direotor of Ceremonies, and Bro. A. E. Oresswoll P.M. Grand Sword Bearer, and Past Masters Bolton and Allan, After the W.M. had been installed Bro. Williams invested the following officers of tho Lodge :— I.P.M., Bro. J, 0. Moroerj S.W., Bro. W. Moves ; J.W., Bro. S. J. Reeves • Treasurer, Bro. L, G. Boor, P.M. ; Sooretarv Bro. R. Allan, P.M. ; 5.0., Bro. W. Short juur ; J.D., Bro. J. Boon ; Organist, Bro. W J. Morrish; 1.G., Bro. M. Scott; Tyler, Bro. 0. J, Bartlett. Bro, Williams congratu • lated the lodge on the large attendance, and tho brotherly feeling and aotive interest shown in Masonry, not only by the members of that Lodge, but alao of the sister Lodgea He also read a telegram from the New Zealand Grand Lodge, congratulating Bro. Bain on his advancement to the ohair of Worshipful Master, Bro Bain briefly thanked the brethren for the honourable position in which they had placed him and thanked the visitors for their attendano9. A capital ohoir under the leadership of Bro W. J. Morrish, assisted by Bro House on the cornet, sang the following anthems during the ceremony :— " Oh, how amiable are Thy dwellings," " Behold how good and joyful a thing it is," and " Praiae the Lord."
