V The monthly meeting was held at 7 p.m. on the 16th May, all the members being present.-- The Returning Officer notified that Meaara Barker and A. Drnmmond junior had beea'fe»eleoted members of the Board. letter was received from the Property Tax Commissioner, also one from the Chief Surveyor, forwarding a tracing' of road.— Tne Clerk reported on work on the road in Forest Creek, and after some disoussion it was resolved that payment for two days' work (With hone and cart) be authorised to the 'Amount of 18s.— Complaint*) having been made regarding the state of the road from Wakefield to Stanley Brook via Pigeon Valley, it was resolved that the Clerk write to. the Councillor for the Biding, drawing hiß attention to the deep rate on the side road between the foot »ud top of hill, at the Waktiield.'end, to the inoonveuience caused to travellers by trees continually falling across the road and blooking it, with the request that all trees within three quarters of a ohain on upper side of the road be out down, j and to the want of three log culverts between the foot and top of the hill, (Stanley Brook side), where in a distance of 140 ohaina, there are but four outlets for water across the road.— Resolved, that all outstanding rates must be paid by the 15th Jane. Payment was authorised for £2 4s.
