I am still of opinion that the office can be dispensed with. In Blenheim they havo an officer who is an acting Sergeant Major ; is j he not capable of doing the work for that district ? This is a subject that wants seeing into for the good of the country, with regard Lo where a great saving can be effected. Apologising for trespassing- on your col-< umns, — 1 am, Thrift.
