j->__i_nj_Li-*(, a miliary ±_. The arrangements are almost completed for the rifle meeting, which Will be opened by Lord Onslow at Jl o'olock on Monday morning. The number of entries is about 340. Of these about 300 are bona fide competitors, the remainder having entered for only one match! Twenty-eight competitors are here from Australia, principally Victorians. Nothing has beon heard of the New South Wales and Queensland men, and it is feared they are not coming. It is expected that a team from H. M. S. Lizard will enter for the intercolonial match. The number of targets in use will be 33." The time has noi been sufficient to ereot the remainder. Capt. Sommerville is, however, confident that with fine weather the meeting will be concluded in a week. Admiral Soott and Lord Carrington, who are expeoted to-morrow, are to be invited to aocompany Lord Onslow on Monday.
