TAKAKA ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary monthly meeting of thia ] Board was held on June 22. Present: Measra M'Parkne, Newport, M*Donald, and Rose. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed, Mr Gapper applied for leave to make an approach to his house at Botofcai, across the ditch. A bridge was proposed and granted. Mr T. Manson applied for the timber on the road to Glencoi-, whioh was granted, on condition that Mr Manson clears the tops of the trees off the road and improves it. Mr J. Byrne'a statement of work with horse and cart oo road waa agreed to and passed. Mr R. Manson's atconnt for work done at Clifton was passed, enbjeot to the inspection of a member of the Board, and the Seoretary to hold the cheque till the inspection is made. Resolved, That the Chairman and Mr Rose inspect the wharf, to see what more is necsßsary to be done. Resolved, That Mr Newport get. Borne necessary work done at the Long Ford, Waitui river. It was resolved that tha Secretary write to Mr Greenfield respecting the thirds of rents, and how it is proposed to be expended. . The Secretary was directed to write to Mr Edmondson, telling him his petition will be attended to as coon as funds are available. It was resolved that J. Byrne be employed for one day carting certain properties belonging to the Board, to tho office; also brioks aud Band for the chimney at the ohlce. The meeting of the Board was adjourned to the 20th of July.
