THE quarterly installation of the officers of tho Loyal Marine Lodge, 1.0.G-.T., took 1 place in the Lodge room, Port Hall, last evening. Tbere was a fair attendance. Bro GK Simpson, C.T., ocoupied the ohair. The reports of the officers, showing a steady increase, were duly adopted. The Lodge Deputy, Bro. R. Croudis, assisted by Bros. T..Leonard and Murray, then installed the following officers : -C.T., Bro. G. Simpson (re elected) ; V.T., Rro. Robertson ; Sec, Bro. Barltrop ; F.S., Sis. Sherwood ; Treas,, Bro. R. Croudis (re elected) ; Chap., Sis. B. Barltrop ; Mar., Sis. fi. Sherwood ; C, Bro. Miller ; Sen., Bro. Cass ; A.S., Sis. Vercoe ; D M., Sis, Emms ; P.C.T., Sis. M. Barltrop. Bro. Muncaster was elected Superintendent of the Juvenile Temple, whioh is to be opened shortly. It was resolved to pay a fraternal visit to the Wakefield Lodge on Wednesday, November Hth. During the evening one candidate was initiated, and two were proposed for membership. Another parcel of gold weighing 102 ounces, was, brought over from Collingwood by the Lady Barkly yesterday, being the result of 4 weeks' crushing at the Johnston's United Mine.. ...-* i A Sydney telegram says that Mr Quong Tart, the weU-known Chinese merohant, will visit China immediately in response to a semi-official request from Pekin, Probably the summons is in oonneotion with the Chinese diffioulty with Australia, and the question is sure to be fully discussed. Country people, and also those who live in town, many of whom have to work hard for their, money, should spend it to the hest advantage, by buying what they require in the drapery line at the Melbourne Clothing Co'e eale.
