At the B.M. Court this afternoon two informations laid by Inspector Drumaiond of the Sheep Department against J, B, Steedman, of Waikanau, for being the ci-vner of sheep infected with scab and neglecting to give the necessary notice were dismissed by Mr Northoroft B.M.

He has admitted the offences and that he had been an inmate of an Industrial School, from which he bolted two years ago. He had since been swagging and knocking about, and was lately in the employ of a farmer at Wakikihi. On Tuesday he broke into a house during the absence of the owner and took away £3 in money, and on Friday evening he rode te TiiHftru on one of his employer's horses turning it adrift on reaching town. He was arrested next day at tbe railway station while waiting for a train to continue his journey north. The young imitator of Jonathan Roberts appears to be rather proud of his achievement.
