Timabu, July 2. At the Police Court today G. Goode, a porter at the Groavenor Hotel, was charged with the larceny af a P.O. order for £3. H*e was given a letter to post by the wife of the licensee on the 14th ult. for the 'Frisoo mail, and the envelope and order (there was no letter written) ware found in his room on Saturday, He explained that he was busy when give*, the letter, and put it in his trousers pooket and forgot all about it till he found it in his pooket last Thursday. The envelope then being very dirty, he resolved to put it in a fresh one and post it by the next mail and say npthing about it for fear of dismissal. He was sentenced to seven days.
