The report of an important case recently heard before Judge Broad, and sent up for appeal to the Supreme Court, which upheld his decision, will be found e'sewhere. The case is of considerable interest to those concerned in Mining Companies. An accident occurred about 8.30 a.m. today, through which Honry Gribble, a young man in the employ of Mr Eatwell (of the Maitai dairy) bad his left arm brokan above the elbow. It appears thst he was driving a milk cart down Hardy sfcrset, when at the crossing in Wellington street (near the rear of Look Bros.) the horse turned sharply and fell, throwing the young man out with cons siderable force. Medical aid was sought for, and the arm was set. A football match will be played in the Botanioal Reserve on Saturday afternoon between the Prince Albert and Nelson Clubs. A Wellington paper Btates that many residents of Petone experienced a singular inconvenienoe as the result of the late storm. The dense Bhowers of spray flying over the township {salted the water-tanks to such an extent as to render the contents quite unlit for domestic nse. Residents living half-a-mile from the bsach had their domestic water supply spoiled from this cause.
