BULMER CREEK G.M. COMPANY.

At the ordinary half yearly meeting held last night at Mr S. J. fteeves' office, at which 25 shareholders were present, Mr J. Pratt in the chair, the Directors report was read as foil© ;vs : —

To the Shareholders of the Bulmer Cheek

Gold Mining Company. Limited, Nelson

Gentlemen,— Since taking office in December last we have exerted our best endeavors to push on the opening of the mine to the best possible advantage, and in all matters connected with the mine we have been entirely guided by our mine Manager— Mr ElUry. A considerable amount of tunnelling has been done during our term of office, but it is all useful work, especially the crosscut that is being driven at present to intersect the reef. This tunnel is a necessity whether stone is got in it or not, as it is the lowest working level that we can get on our ground that would be of any practical use to us. Yon will see by the Mine Manager's Beport that he is expecting to get stone in this crossout ev«ry day.

The Directors regret that they are not in a position to report to this meeting having struck the reef in this present crosscut, hut they have every confidence that the reef will be intersected before very long. The Directors have to congratulate the shareholders in the very assuring opinion expressed by a gentleman of the highest standing in connection with mining matters, who has been engaged at the Owen lately, and who stated that the Buhaer Creek Company is possessed i of a very valuable property. There is nothing mere that the Director* need say in reference to the mine, but to refer the share holders te the Mine Manager's Eeport for all the particulars in reference thereto. One of the greatest drawbacks that we have oelt is the want of a road, or even a passable bridle track, to the reefs. However, we believe that sections of the road are to be commenced at once with the money already available, and that representations are now being made to the Government, whish we hope will be brought to that very desirable ißflue, viz., the securing of an additional vote for the speedy completion of this work. We think, therefore, that we may safely congratulate the shareholders on the fact of this work being speedily completed. One of the Directors frnid a visit to the mine during our term of office, and has expressed himself as highly satisfied with the prospects of everything he Baw. We refer you to the balance pheet as to the financial position of the Company, and we may say that the affairs of the Company generally are in a v ry satisfactory state.

I am, gentlemen, Your obedient servant, John Pratt, Chairman of Directors,

The mine manager's report was consider, d very satisfactory, and the balance sheet was adopted. The retiring Directors, Messrs Pratt, Chisholna, McGaffin. Phillips, and Whiting were re.elected, and Messrs Moutray and Glen were reappointed auditors. The shareholders generally appeared Ba'isficd with what was doing, and the proceedings terminated with a vote of thanks to the Chairman.
