We understand that Mrs Snellof Auckland, and Miss L. M. Wiil of Christchurch, have been appointed assistant mistresses to fill the vacancies caused by tne retirement of Miss Milne and Miss Harrison at the Nelson College for girls. The annual tea in connection with the Foxhill School will take place on Wednesday next. A dance will be held in the evening. At the gymnastics at the College tomorrow a very keen competion is expected for the Senior ifi well as for the Junior Cup. Not only parents and friends of pupils will be welcome, but everyone taking an interest in athletic sports. The prizes for the athletic sports will be presented on Weduesday, the College prize day. The monthly inspection of the Volunteers will take placa on Wednesday evening next, and ds this will be the last parade this year a large muster is expected. The country corps wiil come to town by special train as usual.
