Wellington, Friday. The New Zealand Electric Light Company have decided that the capital of £100,000 shall consist of 20,000 shares of £5 each, instead of 10,000 of £10 each. . • Westpobt, Friday. William M'Kennon, a miner at German G-ulJy, was. accidentally killed at noon to-day through a piece of 'timber falling upon him from a spur above. Atjgkxand, Saturday. Richard Moore, wine and spirit merchant, attempted suicide at the North Shore to-day, j He shot himself in the forehead and body with a revolver, but it is probable he will recover. No cause is assigned. Invkrcakghll, Saturday. Some three weeks ago a man named William Chirm was found dead at Taylor's Flat, Waiau, and it is now asserted that the gunshot wound in the body must have been caused by a weapon discharged from ' a distance, suggesting either murder or manslaughter. A constable has been Bent to make further enquiries.
