Fhom our Wellington flies we find that the telegram which we published on Saturday relative to the division on Mr Ballance 'a amendment in the Qualification of Electors Bill to the effect that the freehold franchise should be extended to women was incorrect, the amendment having been carried instead of lost, as reported. Wb remind our readers of the Naval Brigade concert to be given in the Provincial Hall to-night, and which will be followed by a dance. A dancb will take place in Mr King's Assembly Boom to-night, commencing at 8-15. A Londox telegram to the Po.t dated sth inst says:— Mr William Shaw, the HomeRale member for County Cork, in the course of an address to his constituents, took occasion to denounce Mr Parnell, M P., for the extreme violence he had exßibited in advocating the cause of his party. Such conduct, he urged, was likely to do the HomeRule movement harm rather than good, and he strongly disapproved Mr Parnall's action in the matter. The cost of the Sydney Exhibition up to the present has been £223,000. It is expected that the total expenditure will reach a million sterling. On the other hand the receipts up to the present time have only been £14,000. Thb New Plymouth correspondent of the Post telegraphed ou Saturday :— A great number of the natives have left Parihaka, and are staying now at Witiora, Harriet Beach. So many are dead and dying that they are alarmed, and are determined not to return until the danger is over. They have named Parihaka " The Valley of the Shadow of Death." If it is intended to take Hiroki and Te Whiti it could now be do ne easily, as but a few natives are left to offer resistance. Thb Hon. G. M. Waterhouse, of Welliogton, bas become the purchaser of the Wangawhare and Patoka runs, Hawkes Bay, containing 49,945 acres, stocked with 28,600 sheep, for £31,000, from Mr J. G. Kinross.
