COUNTY COUNCIL NOMINATIONS.
"WANGAMOA. The nomination for the Riding of Wangamoa took place at Mr Batchelor's house, Suburban North, at noon to-day. Mr Wells was nominated by Messrs Wastney and Slater, and, there being no opposition, was duly elected. STOKE. The Returning Officer annouueed afc 'noon to-day that the only nomination received was that of Mr J. W. Barnicoat, proposed by Messrs Hugh Martin and Roderick M'Rae. Air Barnicoat was therefore declared duly elected to represent the Riding of Stoke in the County Council of Waimea. WAI-ITI. At the Motueka Valley Institute at noon to-day Mr Arthur Robert Oliver was, in the absence of opposition, declared duly elected. Modxkrb, Messrs Edward Fearon Burrell and Christian Dencker were nominated for this Riding. The election will take place on Friday, the 22nd inst.
