The importince of establishing efficient steam commum6ation between the producing^ districts of BUnd Bay and the markets of the colony his Ween long fait The objects of ihis Comp/ny nre to purchase a auitsible skftmeri« trade between Motueka. Moutere, Rv^wrf, Wailapu, Collingwood. Nelson, and TJHieciilaces in the Bay. The trada with Ihtse ports is large, and increasing daily, and the present means of communication are inadequate for the requirements of the inhabitants of these numerous districts. The timber trade alone bas lately arsimed^an' important position, and will continue to do so. The promoters feel certain that a Urge and steady trade with bo Ji passengers and. cargo would be at once received by any Company that would put a suitable bsatonthe^ Bay, and that such a boat would pay large' dividends to tho owners, and prove an extremely profitable undertaking. The public will also derive great benefit by being able to goto Nelson aid back the same day. The siromotera therefore call upon the settlers ia these districts to take shares in the proposed Company, in order to participate in the above] and other advantages thifc are certain' tol accrue from the purchase of a steamer, td hi devoted to their interests. They fchereiorl ! hope that every settler will take a few share* apd early application ia necessary. In orddp (O tQ^rrevent the control of the Company s ' affair^ falling into the hands of a few. ' __^ Applications for Shares are to he sse t either to the Secretary, at Motueka, or t! c Union Bank of Australia, Nelaon, wheretl c necessary forms can be obtained. ■ The Share List will close on the Fi!te*m h of October nest. !
