A vacancy having v_J. occurred in the Parliament of New Zealand through the resignation of Mrßichardson as your representative, I beg to inform you thac upon the request of many electors,. I am a candidate to represent you in that House. I will here only state that my opinion with regard to the Public Works Act of 1870 and 1871 have undergone no change since I addressed you last, and should I have the -honour of being elected, would support the present Ministry in carrying out these important works. I will shortly address you in the different localities of the district oh the important questions with which tbe Government of the colony is occupied, and which are of paramout interest to the colon at large.
