Wellington, steamer, from North. Lytteiton, steamer, from Greymouth. Beth Shan, ship, irom London. Crisnna, barque, from Newcastle. Mermaid, schooner, from Havelock. Sisters, schooner, from Motupipi. Ann, cutter, from Waitapu.
The N. Z. S. S. Cos. s.s. Wellington, Captain A. Kennedy, arrived in the Bay this morning and reached the wharf at noon. She left the Manukau on Wednesday last, the 2nd instant, leaving Onehunga wharf at 10.45 a.m., proceeded under easy steam to Taranaki, arriving in the roadstead the following morning at 7.45 am., remained at anchor disclurging cargo till 7 in the evening. Experienced a S.W. gale accompanied with passing showers in the passage irom Manukau to Taranaki; during lay off there unsettled weather, blowing in the morning fresh from W.S.W., towards evening veered round to S.E ; throughout the day, squally with falU of hail and rain, and heavy swell rolling inshore. After leaving had fresh southerly breezes, and a heavy sea crossing the Strait accompanied with clear weather, wind, and sea, after entering the river.
