She brings 16 chief, and 9 steerage passengers, and 116 tons cargo for all ports. Passenger list: Mjs. Ardeil, Miss Ardeli, Miss Suaith^Jrfrs. Hardy, Miss Hardy, Mr. BaiziVMiss Smith, Mr. Minchin, Mr. McDoj^aTl, ! Mrs. McDougall, Messrs. Hellrcer, Burshin, Cairns, Haussmann. Melbourne, May 25. The Queen's Birthday levee yesterday was poorly attended; there being no accommodation fcr ladies, none were present. At the General Review there were 3000 Volunteer^ in the- .presence of the Governor and a very large attendance. A man named Alexander, belonging to the Engineer Corps, was blown to atoms in consequence of the explosion of a mine. The Somersetshire has arrived, 55 days out, with small pox on board, she is in quarantine. The new tariff is much condemned. The Assembly is debating the Budget, to which there is much opposition. Markets. — Flour, £17 per ton; wheat, South Australian, 7s. to Bs. per bushel; New Zealand do., 6s. to Ba.; oats, 3s. 4d. to 3s. 7d. Arrived : Wonga, Windhound, Lyttelton. Adelaide. Parker interviewed the Chamber of Commerce and also the Government with reference to the Californian mail service. Nothing decisive. Left by Coorong for Melbourne. Great apprehensions are entertained for the safety of the clipper Columbus, 104 days out. The Mayor was accidentally knocked down by a carriage. The Queen's Birthday was held as a close holiday, with a levee. Markets. — Wheat held firmly at 6s. Id. The Sydney Assembly are debating the Estimates. It is reported that the Russian frigate is on an exploring voyage to New Guinea. A vessel from the South Seas reported having seen a white woman on the beach at New Britain. The Queen's Birthday Review and Ball were very successful. The schooner Emma Patterson, has been wrecked near Noumea, New Cale- , donia. Arrived : Isabella, from Ly Melton.
