Wedding

PULLEY—ROSS

At St. John’s Church, Ilangiora, the wedding took place this week of Elsie May Boss, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs C. ltoss, Bennetts, to George Wallace Pulley, third son of Mr and Mrs V. H. Pulley, Ilangiora. The ceremony was performed by Archdeacon A. C. Purchas, and Miss N. Bailey officiated at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a trained frock of white crinkle satin, made on classical lines, with a cowl neckline, and full sleeves tapering to points over the wrist. Silver flowers were embroidered on her long tulle veil, which was attached by a coronet of orange blossom, and she carried a sheaf of arum lilies.

Miss Grace Bainsbridge, Hawarden, who attended as bridesmaid, wore a frock of brown taffeta made on similar lines. She wore a lemon velvet cap with a silk eye-veil, and carried a bouquet of lemon and orange abutilons. Little Betty Brick, niece of the bridegroom, attended the bride as flower girl. Her green frock, which was embossed with small green flowers, was ruehed on the shoulders and finished with small green bows and buttons. She wore a headband of pastel green and lemon flowers and her posy of assorted flowers was finished in a gold holder. Mr Frank Devlin attended the bridegroom as best man. After the ceremony the guests were entertained. at a reception held in the Parish Hall. The bride’s mother wore a tailored suit with a white lace blouse, and a navy straw hat. She carried a bouquet of orange abutilons. The bridegroom’s mother also wore a navy tailored suit with a coffee lace blouse finished with two gold tassels. Her hat was of navy straw. She carried a bouquet of dark red roses, carnations, and sweet peas. For travelling the bride wore a wine and white coloured ensemble and a halo hat to match. Mr and Mrs G. \V. Pulley will make their future home in Oxford.
