Owing to pressure on space we are unable to give full reports of the following news. Detailed accounts will appear next issue : FESTIVITY WEEK Messrs D. Appleby and C. Haigh waited on the Rangiora Borough Council on AVednesday night as a deputation from the Festivity AVeek Committee, to ask the Council’s support. The Council decided t(> make all arrangements for the erection of extra lighting in the town.
R.S.A. APPEAL There was a long discussion at the Council meeting concerning an application from the Rangiora Returned Soldiers’ Association for permission to hold a street appeal during Festivity AVeek in aid of the building fund. Councillors expressed the opinion that the proposed appeal, in tho nature of a game on the back of a lorry, should not clash with tho Council’s arrangements, and referred the request to the Committee. LAWN TENNIS A meeting of the N.C. Lawn Tennis Sub-Association was held last night, when arrangements for the season’s representative matches were made.
HEALTH CAMP Acknowledgments of donations to tho Health Camp funds will be made next issue. A meeting of supporters is called for next Tuesday ©veaing (see advertisement).
