GOOD DEMAND FOR A.C.E. BOOKS The books at present in the Rangiora Free Library on loan from the Association for Country Education, numbering 100, have been in demand lately. Figures for the month show that 103 readers have taken out books from this collection. ODDFELLOWS' LODGE The Loyal ltangiora Lodge, M.U. 1.0.0. F., met on Monday evening, Bro. A. H. Miles, N.G., presiding. The Ashley district secretary (Bro. C. I. Jennings) advised that lodges in the district had been invited to visit the Loyal Sister Pearce Lodge, Christchurch, on September 9. The Loyal Sister Pearce Lodge wrote stating that it would visit Rangiora on October 18. It was decided to ascertain if September 21 would be a suitable date for a visit to the Loyal Kaiapoi Lodge. Bro. S. F. Minchington, P.G., resigned from the position of warden, because of his leaving the district, and Bro. J. Cooke, P.D.G.M., was appointed to fill the vacancy. Bro. J. L. Blake, P.G-, was elected left supporter to the N.G. A motion of sympathy was passed with the relatives of Bro. R. G. Miles. Arrangements were made for a flag 500 tournament, after the next meeting, at which members of the Loyal Cust and Loyal Ohoka Lodges will be present.
