20,000 Word Indictment
SOFIA, Wed. (11 a.m.).—The former Bulgarian vice-Premier (Traicho Rostov) was formally charged today with (1) Having plotted with Britain, the United States and Marshal Tito for the overthrow of the BuJgaiian Government.
(2) Plotted assassination ol the late Bulgarian Premier iGeorgi Dimitrov) (3) Planned annexation of Bulgaria to Yugoslavia. The 20.000-word indictment said the British intelligence chief in the Balkans (Colonel Willir n Bailley and the United States Minister in Sofia (Mr Donald Heath) had give- the Rostov instruction
The indictment addca that the United States had reached complete agreement with Tito on the plot. It said that Kostov was instructed by Heath to accept idvico from Tito as having come from the United States Government.
Kostov will be tried along with the former Finance ./liniste” (Ivan Stefanovi and a senior ci\tl servant who are also indicted as ringleaders in the plot, by the Supreme Court, from whose findings there is no appeal. Eight others, including the heads of state enterprises, diplomat.: and Communist Party leaders, also were mentioned in the indictment and will be tried like the other three by the Supreme Court.
