No Dollar Loans Yet

DUNEDIN, Sat. (P.A.)—The Government did not at the moment consider entering any substantial negotiations for a dollar loan with the United States, said the Minister of Finance (Mr Nash) today. “The only conditions on which negotiations from a loan will take place will be for dollar equipment which will expand our exporls to serve and repay the loan,” said the Minister. Financial authorities in the United .States Government had said they were willing at any time to discuss New Zealand's requirements in connection with projects requiring capital equipment available in the United States, said Mr Nash.

Any equipment required which would entail dollar expenditure and which would add to the production of the Dominion, both for internal consumption and for export, would be examined.
