Miss Bishop, Mrs Murray In Final
WELLINGTON, Fri. (P.A.)-The Western Australian 21-year-old champion, Miss M. Bishop, and .the Miramar open champion, Mrs H. Murray, won their semi-finals against Mrs Fullerton-Smith and Mrs J. Ball. New Zealand champion, respectively in the Wellington women’s provincial golf championship at Herctaunga today. Both winners played splendid golf in testing conditions, there being driving. misty rain and all the greens were carrying water. Mrs Murray went out in 37 (par) and when Miss Bishop’s game ended at the 14th she was only one over par. The game between Mrs Murray and Mrs Ball went to the 17th where the former sank a 20-footer to take the hole and match, 3/1.
Miss Bishop, however, outclassed her opponent and won 5/4.
The Austrian Federation of Trade Unions has decided to leave the World Federation of Trade Unions and to join the newly-formed Non-Communist Trade Union International. Three Communist members were the only ones to vote against the proposal.
