N. Island Matchings For Games Trials
AUCKLAND, Fri.. (P.A.).— North Island matchings for the Empire Games Boxing trials at Hamilton next Thursday were announced today.
They are:— Fly-weight: G. Broadhurst, (Auckland) and B. Maddern (place not stated).
Bantam-weight: R. A. Broadhurst, (Auckland) and C. Smith (Taumarunui); C. Head (Whangarci) and N. Collins (Taranaki).
Feather - weight: W. Paterson (Hawke's Bay) and T.Mclntyre (Gisborne). J. Keen (Hutt Valley) and B. Brown (Dannevirke).
Light-weight: C. Ball (Mangwatu) and J. Westall (Hawke’s Bay); R. Mathers (Hamilton) and G. Davies (Pahiatua).
Welter-weight: B. Cahill (Hutt Valley) and M. Skiflington (Hamilton); C. J. Brennan (Auckland) and C. Anderson (Waihi). Middleweight: F. Hubbard (Manawatu) and A. Whittle (Hamilton); D. Bloor (Taranaki) and another trlalist. Light-heavyweight: B. Litt (Hamilton) and J. Hall (Taranaki); C. M. Rollinson (Auckland) and N. Turnbull (Wellington). Heavyweight: A. Rook (Auckland) and J. Riley (Dannevirke). The final Empire Games trials between North and South Islands will be held at Palmerston North on December TO.
