Devaluation Notice
LONDON, Tue. ,(10 a.m.) The Chancellor of the Exchequer (Sir Stafford Crinps) told Parliament today that Britain had given France as much notice as possible of its intention to devalue the pound. * He was answering criticism by Professor Douglas Savory (Conservative), who said France had been greatly dissatisfied at the “lack of notice.” Sir Stafford replied: “We gave the notice in accordance with the practicability of the situation.
