Increase In Hobson Roll

KAIKOHE, Wed. (Sp.).—Hobson electorate has grown by at least 1232.

That is the margin of increase in the 1949 Main Electoral Roll, now released, over the 1946 roll. In all, there are 14,483 names on the roll, of which 1250 copies have been printed.

Typing of the copy for the linotype machines was done by a team of three Maori girls, who had received their training at Northland College.

They were Misses Mary Wara, Riria Rogers, and Rewi Apiata. The registrar (Mr E. G. Tyler) is now preparing the Supplementary Roll, for which he has already received 400 names.
