Disposal Of Congo Uranium Ore
BRUSSELS, Thu. (11.30 a.m.)—The Prime Minister (M. Eyskens) told the Bielgian Senate tonight that Belgium was not bound by any secret treaty forcing her to reserve the Belgian Congo’s uranium production to any particular foreign power, says the United Press. ' M. Eyskens was replying to a question put by a Communist member. It was reported recently in Brussels that a five-year agreement whereby the Congo’s uranium was shipped to atomic plants in the United States, expired recently, and a new one was being negotiated. The Senate tonight gave M. Eyskens coalition government a vote of confidence by 99 to 51. This means that the Eyskens’ Cabinet, following a confidence vote in the Chamber of Deputies yesterday, is now officially in. office.
