Waipopa-Kapiro Settlers' Assn
Mr A. Riddell, the riding member of the Bay of Islands County Council, was the guest of the bi-monthly meeting of the Waipapa-Kapiro Settlers’ ticularly roading and electric powei Association held recently. Questions on county matters, parv/ere answered by Mr Riddell. Kapiro, although a rick dairying district, and the centre of the Government’s land development scheme involving 500 acres, is to a large extent, still without power, and it was felt that this lack was slowing up progress in pi’ivate land development. Th<? secretary reported that workers’ concession tickets on the NZR buses had been granted and that the rural delivery would commence shortly. It was decided to support the Bay of Islands Harbour Board in its move to have Opua restored as a deep water port, also that the Kerikeri Chamber of Commerce be supported in its endeavour to have the Kerikeri-Waipapa Road declared a main highway.
