Frigate's Race To Save Man's Arm
WELLINGTON, Sat.. (P.A.).—HMNZS Hawea, on her way to Auckland, on the last lap of her Pacific cruise, has been diverted to Raoul Island, in the Kermadecs in a race to save the arm of a Nieu Islander who has a badly infected hand with the infection spreading.
A Catalina was to have made the trip this morning, but was prevented by bad weather. The frigate is not expected to reach the Island before Monday.
