FAIR COPY, who has had, and is having great success at the stud in France, has just been brought bacK to England by Lord Derby to replace now defunct Fairway. Fair Copy s son,' Sayani, who carried a record weight for a three-year-old of 9.4 when he won the Cambridgeshire in England has been fully booked in France by French and English breeders at a fee of 400 gns. FAIR COPY is closely related on his dam’s side to the champion stallions, HYPERION (6) and BIG GAME (6) and represents Lord Derby’s two greatest classic families. *

PONT D'OR is half-brother to one of the leading sires in France in COR de CHASSE, who has been second ami fifth on the French Sires’ List, and is retained by the French Government. PONT D’OR is a better nerformed horse than this older half-brother tie is half-brother to no less than five high-class winners, his grandam has produced eight high-class winners, and is by the famous sire, FLYING FOX, the sire of the great AJAX, the sire of famous TEDDY This branch of the No. 2 family was developed oy the late Lord Derby who bred from it great stayers like PYRAMID, winner of the Jockey Club Stakes, £5241, and dam of The Nile, winner of the French 1000 Guineas, and now in Lord Derby's stud, Ad Astra, a good winner ana second in the French Oaks, Trestle, a great stayer and dam of 5 good winners, and sister to Keysoe, winner of the English St Leger, and a host of good races, and Keystone 11, winner of the English Oaks. etc. This family also produced the great American racehorse and sire, Discovery (2), whose son, Whistling Wind, bought for a very high price is being imported to the Cranleigh Stud. PONT D'OR’s dam, Corncihe D’Or, is by KSAR, one of lhe greatest of all French sires, who was succeeded by his son, TOURBILLON. also champion sire of Fiance, and who is the sire of the present-day leading sire of France in DJEBEL. The latter’s son has just won the Eclipse Stakes in England in Ihe fastest time for 15 years. PONT DOR carries the most successful classic lines of blood in England and France, he is a high-class performer, and is an individual of grand size, splendid conformation and has the groat quality and blood-like appearance ot the best champions of the present day in France and England. Now that PONT D'OR has become acclimatised a number of selected I mares will be accepted for service this season at a fee of 125 gns.
