15-YEAR-OLD GIRL SHOWS MEN HOW
DUNEDIN, Fri. (Sp.).—Where stock agents’ assistants , police, drovers and others failed, a 15-year-old girl succeeded yesterday. A Hereford bullock, after jumping from a railway truck in the Dunedin yards yesterday afternoon made off into the street and defied all methods to recapture it until after nightfall. Then the girl, Phyllis McKenzie, daughter of a veil-known drover of Mornington, came into the piccture with her horse, dog and whip. As a result the bullock was recaptured and placed under guard on the foreshore. By skilful manoeuvring of her horse and dog, the girl succeeded where others had failed. While she drove the beast across the road all traffic was stopped to allow a clear passage.
