Anima V. C. For Simon
LONDON, Thu. iI(J a.m.).— Simon, the cat aboard the British sloop Amethyst, who received shrapnel wounds during the ship's exploits on the Yangtse River, is to be awarded the ' Animal V.C.”— the Dickin Medal. Announcing this today, the People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals said present holders of the Dickin Medal are Dogs, horses and pigeons—s 3in all. Simon will be the first cat to hold the distinction.
