Convalescent Home For Student Nurses
AUCKLAND. Fri. (Sp.).—Sponsored by the Junior Chamber of Commerce, a move is afoot in Auckland for the provision of a home for convalescent student nurses. Estimated cost is'£lo,ooo, of which £1250 is already in hand. Under the chairmanship of Mr P. G. Oates, the Junior Chamber has set up a committee to handle the project which will include an appeal to be launched shortly. It is understood that the attitude of the Hospital Board is favourable, and that it will cooperate with the committee. The student nurses themselves had already raised £IOOO by their own efforts, and the Juhior Chamber had £250 in hand. The final appeal would be for £IO.OOO to £12,000.
