Vestria At Perth On Voyage To Whangarei
PERTH, Sat.—The 550-ton motor vessel Vestria, which will enter the coastal trade, under the Northern Steamship Co., Ltd’s., flag, arrived in Fremantle yesterday on the last call in her two and a half months’ voyage to Whangarei. Commanded by Captain J. Appleton, who brought the Goldfinder to Whangarei recently, the .Vestria has a cargo of North African phosphate for Northland consignees. She has experienced rough weather on her voyage from Sfax and minor breakdowns occurred in the engine room.
These defects were repaired at sea, but the engines will be checked over before the ship crosses the Tasman.
