Wesfrmarks Taken Fro mßerlin Drovers
BERLIN, Fri. (2.45 p.m.).—Drivers of German lorries reported, after arrival in Berlin today, that they were halted by Soviet zone police at Michendorf, 20 miles west of Berlin, and west‘marks taken from them. <
There was no interference with Allied traffic.
Possession of westmarks was made a criminal offence in ’ the Soviet zone after the westmark was introduced in June, 1948.
