Tablet Did Not Soothe
AUCKLAND, Sat. (P.A.). Mr Justice Goldstine rebuked a witness at the Local Government Commission of Inquiry in Auckland yesterday for taking tablets from a bottle during cross-examination by counsel.
“What is this a confectionery shop?” asked His Honor, who is chairman of the Commission, noticing witnes shaking a bottle of tablets which he had obtained from counsel to the commission and popping two tablets into his mouth.
“I object to that—l object very strongly,” the chairman added.
Witness indicated that he had taken the tablets for his throat. Counsel for the commission rose from his seat and apologised. The Offending bottle disappeared)
